This flavoured rice is a change to the taste bud that is so used to steamed white rice .
Ingredients:
pinch of cumin seed , 2 cloves , 1 bay leaf
1 1/4 c cauliflower florets , carrot strips , drained canned snow peas
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tomato , sliced
1 1/2 rice cup fragrant rice
1/2 rice cup split green gram dal , soaked
1 /2 tsp corriander pwd , meat curry pwd and pepper cumin pwd
pinch of tumeric and salt
Directions:
1. Fry the spices .
2. Add the vegetables and mix well .
3. Add the paste and the tomato . Fry for 1 min .
4. Add the rice and dhal .
5. Mix well and add all the powders along with pinch of salt and tumeric pwd .
6. Transfer to the electric rice cooker .
7. Add 3 rice cups of water .
8. Check the salt again .
9. Switch to COOK position .
10. Serve with some thick sauce or gravy .
