Very old recipe in my collection. The cereal gives them a nice texture Ingredients:
2 c rice krispies |
1 c coconut, shredded |
2 egg whites |
1/2 c nut meats, ground or chopped ( esp almonds ) |
1 c sugar |
1 ts vanilla |
Directions:
1. Beat the egg whites until stiff, add the sugar gradually, then the vanilla, coconut, nuts and last the Krispies, being careful not to crumble them 2. Drop by spoonfuls on buttered pan and bake in moderate, 350F 3. oven until macaroons are delicate brown. |
