What could be better than a delicious nut bread with a cream cheese surprise in the center?! This is another recipe from Kraft. Ingredients:

2 cups flour |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 tsp baking soda |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 cup oil |
1/2 cup milk |
2 eggs |
1 tsp lemon zest |
1 cup chopped nuts |
filling |
8 oz philadelphia brand cream cheese, softened |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and egg, mixing until well blended. 2. Combine dry ingredients. Add combined oil, milk, eggs and zest to dry ingredients, until moistened. 3. Fold in nuts. 4. Spread 1 cup batter into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. 5. top with cream cheese mixture and cover with remining batter. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. 7. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan. |
