Something i used when i didnt have any barbeque sauce at home. Start with a base of sauteed onion and garlic , add the beef broth for depth and give it a 30 min simmer to bring the flavours together. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon oil |
1 finely chopped onion, medium size |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 cup canned beef broth |
1 cup tomato ketchup |
3/4 cup cider vinegar |
1/4 cup light brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder |
1/2 teaspoon celery salt |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, heat the oil. 2. Add the onion and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. 3. toss it until the onion is translucent for about 3-5 minutes. 4. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the sauce has thickened. |
