Rhubarb Torte

This is a recipe from my husbands family. It is a must every spring when the rhubarb is picked.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
5 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
2 cups chopped rhubarb
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Mix flour, butter and powdered sugar thoroughly and pat into 9X9in greased baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
3. Mix all remaining ingredients except nuts and rhubarb.
4. Fold in nuts and rhubarb.
5. Pour over baked crust and bake 40-45 minutes more.
