This recipe my sister got when in Home Economics in 9th grade many years ago. It is very sweet, yet very good! Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter |
2 eggs |
2 tablespoons milk |
4 cups rhubarb, cut up in small pieces |
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry gelatin |
1/2 cup butter |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup flour |
Directions:
1. Combine 2 cups flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Cut in 1/2 cup butter. 3. Add eggs and milk. 4. Pat into a greased 9 x 13 pan. 5. Cover with rhubarb and sprinkle dry gelatin on top. 6. Mix butter, sugar and l cup of flour. 7. Put this on top of rhubarb. 8. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. 9. Let cool then cut into squares. |
