Rhubarb Nut Bread

Family favorite that we always look forward once spring is here and the rhubarb is fresh.
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup liquid shortening
1 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups fresh rhubarb, diced
1/2 cup nuts
Directions:
1. Mix above ingredients and put in 2 greased and floured loaf pans.
2. Sprinkle topping (see below) over top and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
3. TOPPING:.
4. 1/2 Cup sugar.
5. 1 tablespoons butter.
