From an older cookbook that I bought. Sounds yummy! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup white sugar |
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup hot cooked rhubarb |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons milk |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon flour |
1 teaspoon hot water |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add eggs and milk. 3. In a seperate bowl, mix flour, salt and soda. 4. Add to creamed mixture. 5. Add vanilla and hot rhubarb. 6. Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3 inch greased loaf pan. 7. Bake one hour at 375 or until done. 8. TOPPING:. 9. Melt butter in a small pan. 10. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended. Pour over top of bread. |
