A sweet, dense pumpkin bread that's a family favorite. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
3 cups sugar |
2/3 cup water (less for fresh pumpkin) |
2 cups pumpkin puree |
4 eggs |
1 cup salad oil (canola oil) |
Directions:
1. Sift dry ingredients into larger bowl. 2. Combine salad oil, eggs, pumpkin, water in other bowl. 3. Add to dry ingredients. 4. Mix thoroughly. 5. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans. 6. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1-1.5 hours. May add 1 cup chopped nuts. |
