classic prawn cocktail recipe Ingredients:
500g small cooked & peeled prawns |
400ml mayonnaise |
2 tbsp of double cream |
2 tbsp tomato ketchup |
2 tsp lemon juice |
a dash of tabasco sauce |
a dash of paprika powder |
a handful of lettuce such as iceberg or little gem |
Directions:
1. Drain the prawns as well as possible. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, cream, ketchup, lemon juice and Tabasco to form a smooth pink sauce.Add the prawns and mix well until all the prawns are coated in the sauce. At this stage, you can cover and chill in the fridge until ready to use.Next, finely shred the lettuce with a knife and layer in the bottom of 4 sundae glasses or small glass bowls.Add a generous helping of the prawns in Marie Rose sauce and then sprinkle a bit of paprika over the top. |
