This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wade Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1981. Ingredients:
2 glass jars relish pasteurized neufchatel cheese spread |
1 egg yolk |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
2 drops worcestershire sauce |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
8 ounce can minced claims drained |
your favorite pastry |
20 household aluminum foil circles |
paprika |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450. Blend together relish spread, egg yolk, baking powder and seasonings. Add the drained clams and mix well. Roll pastry to about 1/8” thickness and cut pastry rounds with a biscuit cutter. Cover each round generously with relish mixture. Place each round in the center of the foil circle and bring the edges of the circles up around the pastry and relish mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Cook in oven for 20 minutes. Remove from foil and serve hot. |
