I love baked beans, but never have time or a crock to make them in, so I reinvented them to cook on the stovetop. Ingredients:
1 large can any brand baked beans |
4 strips bacon, chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
1/4 cup molasses |
1 tablespoon honey |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 tablespoon hot sauce |
2 tablespoons yellow mustard |
1/4 cup ketchup |
1/2 can of beer |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon in a large pot until crisp, drain all but 1 tablespoon of drippings. 2. Saute onion and garlic in reserved bacon drippings until soft. 3. Add all the rest of the ingredients and slowly simmer for about 30 minutes, until thick. |
