Another great cake recipe, I found this site with all the cake recipes and I thought it would be nice to pass them on to you, I have been baking a lot, and passing them on. This household ca'n't manage it all - lol Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 1/3 cups buttermilk or 1 1/3 cups sour milk |
1/2 cup shortening, margarine or 1/2 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 egg whites |
10 ounces reese's chips |
Directions:
1. In a bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and 1/8 tsp salt. Add buttermilk, shortening, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl occasionally. 2. Add egg whites and beat for 2 minutes more, scraping bowl. 3. Pour in 10oz bag Reese's chips - stir with spoon. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9x 1 1/2 inch round baking pans. 4. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 5. Cool on wire racks for 10 minutes. Loosen sides and remove from pans. Cool thoroughly on wire racks. |
