These came about after a discussion about the redneck appetizer known as Bologna Cake. Yes, it exists, but no, I don't make it! :) This, however, is an upscale version of the same idea and it turned out great! Read more :) Ingredients:
1lb quality deli roast beef, sliced thin, but not shaved |
2 blocks cream cheese, softened |
4oz blue cheese, crumbled(i used gorgonzola) |
1t worcestershire sauce |
2 green onions, chopped |
cayenne pepper, to taste(i used 1t) |
fresh ground black pepper |
smoked paprika(optional) |
green olives to garnish |
Directions:
1. Combine cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, onions, cayenne and black pepper in medium glass bowl See Photo. Mix well. 2. Stack 3 pieces of roast beef together and spread a layer of the cream cheese mix over it. 3. Sprinkle lightly with paprika See Photo 4. Lay another 3 pieces on top of that layer, and repeat. 5. Top with another 3 pieces. 6. Repeat with all remaining beef and cream cheese mix.(you may have a lil left) 7. Tightly wrap each stack in plastic wrap and let rest in fridge for at least 2 hours. 8. When chilled, slice into about 1 inch cubes and top each with a small green olive with a toothpick. |
