Ingredients:
1/2 cup crisco |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3 tablespoons instant powdered chocolate milk mix |
3 tablespoons red food coloring |
1 cup buttermilk |
2 1/4 cups sifted flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon white vinegar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup powdered sugar |
6 tablespoons crisco |
3 tablespoons flour |
2/3 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cream Crisco and sugar together. 3. Add eggs, chocolate milk mix and food coloring and mix well. 4. Add buttermilk, flour, salt and vanilla; mix well. 5. To a small bowl add vinegar and baking soda. 6. FOLD this into the cake mixture. 7. Pour into a greased and flour pan. 8. Depending on the size of your pan bake for about 30 minutes or until done. 9. To prepare icing: Cream butter, sugar and Crisco. 10. Add one at a time flour, milk and vanilla. 11. Beat for 12 minutes or until fluffy. |
