RED PLUM CRUMB BARS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hartman Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar firmly packed |
1-1/2 cups flour |
3/4 cup butter |
1-1/2 cups oatmeal |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups red plum jam |
powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients except jam until crumbly. 2. Spread 1/2 of the mixture into a greased rectangular pan. 3. Spread jam over crumbly mixture then cover with remaining crumbs. 4. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes then allow to cool 5 minutes. 5. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
