Ground turkey breast is a flavorful and healthy alternative to ground beef. If you have the time to fire up the grill, grilling the patties will enhance their flavor. Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey breast |
1/3 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup quick-cooking oats |
1/4 cup finely chopped onion |
1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper |
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
cooking spray |
4 (1.6-ounce) light whole wheat hamburger buns |
1/4 cup (2 ounces) tub-style light cream cheese |
1/4 cup red pepper jelly |
16 thin slices cucumber |
1/4 cup alfalfa sprouts |
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Divide turkey mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty. 2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat; coat pan with cooking spray. Add turkey patties; cook 6 minutes on each side or until done. 3. Place patties on bottom halves of buns. Top each with 1 tablespoon each of cream cheese and jelly, 4 cucumber slices, and 1 tablespoon alfalfa sprouts. Top with top halves of buns. |
