This pares really well with a jucy steak......it add a sweet tart fllavor...interesting taste....but good I am gonna try putting some garlic in it to see what that does Ingredients:
1 ounce butter |
1 pound red onions, halved and sliced |
1 tablespoon light soft brown sugar |
9 ounces red wine |
2 ounces red wine vinegar |
salt and freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt the butter in a medium pan. Add the onions and sugar and cook over a medium heat, stirring, until soft and lightly caramelized. Add the wine and vinegar and leave to cook for about another 10 minutes until all the liquid has evaporated and the onions are very soft. Season with salt and pepper and keep hot till serving time. |
