These caramelized onions are heavenly as burger toppings, garnish on spinach salad, and the perfect finish to almost any dish. Ingredients:
2 red onions |
1 cup red wine vinegar |
1 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Slice both red onions into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place vinegar and sugar in a large skillet over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Once sugar is completely dissolved, add the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for twenty minutes until the onions are caramelized and liquid is reduced. Set aside to cool. |
