This East Indian sauce is a tasty condiment for grilled burgers, fish, beef, chicken, or pork. Ingredients:
2 cups finely chopped red onion |
1/2 cup red wine vinegar |
1/3 cup packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon mustard seeds |
1 tablespoon minced peeled fresh ginger |
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Uncover and cook 10 minutes or until liquid almost evaporates. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. |
