This easy, fragrant, warm side dish will make your mouth water...good luck getting it to the plate! Ingredients:
2 tablespoons dried basil |
2 tablespoons dried thyme |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 teaspoon white pepper |
5 teaspoons olive oil |
2 roma (plum) tomatoes, halved lengthwise |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, mix together basil, thyme, salt, and white pepper. Mix in 5 teaspoons olive oil to make a spreadable paste. Spread paste on cut side of each tomato half. 2. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in small skillet over medium-low heat. Place tomatoes herb-side down in skillet, and cover. Simmer for 5 minutes; tomatoes should be hot but not stewed. Serve immediately. |
