American Cookery, December 1920 Adjusted to modern cooking Ingredients:
1 quart red currants |
2 cups water |
1 cinnamon stick |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
2 tablespoons arrowroot |
Directions:
1. Mash the currants through a colander. 2. Put the juice in a pan and add two cups water, cinnamon stick, lemon juice and heat. 3. Add arrowroot to one tbsp water and blend until smooth. Add to pan. 4. Heat until boiling, stirring constantly. 5. Serve. |
