Tasty salad, more like a slaw good with barbecue or pork. Ingredients:
3 cups chopped red cabbage |
1/2 cup chopped scallion |
1/3 cup of chopped green pepper |
1/4 cup of chopped pimento |
1/3 cup of chopped celery, (tough strings removed) |
salt and fresh ground black pepper |
1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar |
3 tbsp of sugar |
2 tbsp of bacon grease, melted and slightly cooled (wicked) |
Directions:
1. Toss all the vegetables together with salt/pepper, vinegar, sugar. 2. Chill for one hour or more. 3. Just before serving, add slightly warm bacon grease, toss well and eat. |
