Red Cabbage and Apples - Crock Pot |

Very tasty side dish, just tried it, good hot or cold. Ingredients:
1 small red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced |
3 medium apples, cored and grated |
1/2 cup red wine vinegar |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 dash red pepper flakes (optional) |
1 cup cooked crumbled bacon (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine cabbage, apples, red wine vinegar, sugar, cloves and pepper flakes if using, in slow cooker. 2. Cover and cook on High 6 hours. 3. stirring after 3 hours. 4. Sprinkle with bacon, if desired. |
