Red Beans, Barley & Sausage Stew |

Easy stew to throw together and let cook in the crockpot! Ingredients:
1 lb uncooked red kidney beans |
46 ounces chicken broth |
2 cups water |
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced |
1 cup barley |
2 bay leaves |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon thyme |
Directions:
1. The night before, rinse beans, place in a large bowl with water to cover and let soak overnight. 2. Drain and rinse beans. 3. Put all ingredients in a large crock-pot, stir, cover and cook on low 8-10 hours. 4. Prep time does not include soaking beans. |
