Red Beans and Rice for Dummies! |

1 1/2 cups wild rice |
3 cups water |
1 beef bouillon cube |
1 1/2 lbs kielbasa |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 bell pepper, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, chopped |
3 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans |
1.5 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes |
3/4 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and bullion cube and allow to simmer until liquid is completely absorbed, about 20 minutes. 2. Slice sausage and cook in a skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in onion powder, bell pepper and garlic. Saute until the pepper is tender. Add the beans, tomato and spices. Simmer 20 minutes. Serve over the prepared rice. |
