Ingredients:
3 cup(s) dry red beans |
4 cup(s) water |
1 onion chopped |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
1.5 tablespoon(s) chili powder |
1.5 teaspoon(s) cumin |
1 pound(s) sausage 1/4 in slices |
Directions:
1. Soak beans for 6-8 hours then rinse. Bring water to a boil and add beans, onion and salt. Let cook for 45 minutes and add Chili powder, Cumin and sausage. Let cook for an additional 20 minutes adding water if needed. Serve over rice or with crackers or Mexican cornbread. (Prep time does not include time for soaking beans) |
