I got this recipe from my mom. It has been in our family for years. It is excellent! Ingredients:
1 lb red kidney beans |
2 large onions |
1 bell pepper |
2 garlic cloves |
1 pinch sugar |
2 lbs link sausage |
Directions:
1. Wash and sort beans. 2. Put in large pot and cover with water. 3. Let soak over night. 4. Add 1 quart of water to beans in cooking pot and cook 3 hours. 5. Water should just cover beans when done. Add onions, pepper, garlic, sugar, and sausage the last hour. 6. Serve over rice. |
