Old family favorite. Ingredients:
3 (15 1/2 ounce) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can cajun stewed tomatoes |
2 cups diced fully cooked ham |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
3 dashes hot sauce |
Directions:
1. In a large Dutch oven, bring all ingredients to a boil. 2. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. 3. **Weserve this over hot cooked rice. |
