Who says you can't have a good recipe low calorie dessert made with chocolate? The ones on this page are so good you won't believe they are low calorie. And now for your recipe low calorie dessert made with chocolate: Ingredients:
2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch |
2 cups skim milk |
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder |
1 1/2 tbsp instant coffee |
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten |
1/4 cup splenda |
2 egg whites, room temperature |
1/8 tsp cream of tartar |
1/2 tsp vanilla extract for enhanced flavor, consider using the madagascar vanilla bean in your recipe low calorie dessert |
Directions:
1. Mix cornstarch and 1/2 cup of milk in bowl. Set aside. 2. Using a heavy saucepan, combine coca, instant coffee, and the remaining milk. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Stir the cornstarch into the warm cocoa mixture. Stir constantly as it thickens. Stir in the egg yolk and the Splenda. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and cool. 3. In separate bowl, beat egg whites until peaks form. Add cream of tartar, and beat till stiff. Fold the whites into the chocolate mixture, mixing just until no whites show. Spoon into 8 parfait glasses and chill until serving. 4. If desired, serve this recipe low calorie dessert with light whipped topping. |
