A superb sauce for ice cream or cake. This recipe also came from Cheri.Doesn't make very much , but could be easlily doubled. Ingredients:
2 1/2 tablespoons butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup evaporated milk |
2 tablespoons corn syrup |
1/2 cup water |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, mix first 4 ingredients together.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat.
4. Cook and stir for 5 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, mix next 2 ingredients in a cup.
6. After the first is done.
7. Add water mixture and stir and cook for 1 minute longer, until thickened.
