I love these beets-it is the ONLY way I will eat beets. Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can sliced beets |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 tablespoons flour |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
beet juice |
Directions:
1. Strain and save juice from can of sliced beets. 2. Set beets aside. 3. In a medium sized pan, melt butter. 4. Add flour and cook slowly, stirring constantly, to form a smooth paste. 5. Add juice from beets, vinegar and sugar. Cook until thickened; add beets and cook on very low heat for about 5 minutes. 6. Cool; refrigerate till cold. |
