No cream cheese needed! Traditionally paired with a tart Granny Smith, try it with a crunchy sweet Fuji instead. Ingredients:
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed |
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream |
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup |
3 tablespoons unsalted butter |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 fuji apples, sliced |
Directions:
1. Bring first 3 ingredients to boil in medium saucepan over medium heat, whisking until sugar dissolves. 2. Boil caramel 5 minutes, whisking occasionally. 3. Turn off heat, whisk in butter, vanilla and salt. Cool completely. 4. Dip apple slices in caramel and enjoy. |
