Real Belgian Stiff Dough Waffles-No Sugar Added |

These came from a grandmother to one of the girls in our youth group. She was born in Belgium and this is her family recipe - they are rich and lovely. I use splenda now for the recipe as my son is diabetic, but it works with sugar beautifully too. These are the ones you only eat once a year! Great as dessert waffles too! Ingredients:
6 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 1/4 cups splenda granular |
1 1/2 cups butter, melted |
7 eggs |
2 cups water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in microwave. 2. Combine dry ingredients. 3. Beat eggs and water together with mixer, slowly add to dry ingredients. 4. When mixed add butter and beat with mixer. 5. Dough will be stiff. 6. Use Belgian waffle iron - makes 8 waffles. |
