I made this using fresh pears. It was a big hit. It stayed moist. It seems like a lot of oil but it works. Ingredients:
1 cup oil |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
3 eggs |
4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 cup walnuts |
3 cups apples, peeled and chopped or 3 cups pears |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1/4 cup milk (a little at time) |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 teaspoons butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together. 2. Bake 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 50 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. 3. Mix glaze ingredients to a runny consistency and pour over warm cake. |
