Rau Thom is a platter of herbs that is served at every Vietnamese meal to accompany the food. Typically, it consists of mint (peppermint), Vietnamese (or Thai) basil, cilantro and limes. Sometimes families will include dill on their rau thom platter as well. Ingredients:
3 -4 sprigs fresh mint |
4 sprigs thai basil |
6 sprigs cilantro |
2 limes, cut into wedges |
dill sprigs (optional) |
Directions:
1. Arrange herbs and limes on a plate and serve with Vietnamese dishes as an accompaniment. |
