Syllabub is a thick and frothy dessert from England. From Bon Appetit Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
2/3 cup dry white wine |
1/2 cup lemon juice, fresh |
1/3 cup dry sherry |
2 tbls. lemon peel, grated |
2 cups chilled whipping cream |
1 pint raspberries |
Directions:
1. Prep time does not included chill time 2. Whisk first 5 ingredients in medium bowl until sugar dissolves 3. Beat cream in large bowl to stiff peaks 4. Fold whipped cream into wine mixture 5. Divide mixture among 8 wineglasses 6. Cover and refrigerate overnight (syllabub mixture will separate but don't worry) 7. Sprinkle with berries and serve |
