Easy, colorful holiday bar recipe. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 cups quick oats |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
1 cup raisins |
1/2 cup raspberry jam |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 F degrees. 2. Combine butter, brown sugar, vanilla until well blended. 3. Add flour and baking soda to mixture. 4. Stir in oats and nuts into existing mixture. 5. Reserve 1 cup of oat mixture for topping. 6. Press remaining mixture into 8in. 7. square baking pan. 8. Combine raisins and jam. 9. Spread raisin mixture to within 1/2 inch of edges of pan. 10. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. 11. Press lightly. 12. Bake at 375F degrees for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. 13. Cool in pan. 14. Cut into bars. |
