This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crawford Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/4 cup shortening |
1 cup milk |
melted butter |
1 cup fresh raspberries |
3/4 cup small chunk maple sugar |
Directions:
1. Sift together first 4 ingredients. 2. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. 3. Add milk and mix only until all flour is dampened. 4. Spread into a well greased skillet or pan then brush top with melted butter. 5. Spread raspberries over top then sprinkle with chunk maple sugar. 6. Bake for 20 minutes at 450. |
