You know that green salsa you see at Mexican restaurants? This is it. And this is also the first of many recipes I must get from my mom. Thank LB's madre for this recipe :) Ingredients:
1 1/2 - 2 pounds tomatillos, peeled and rinsed |
2-3 cloves garlic, minced |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 serrano pepper, diced (seeds optional) |
3-4 tablespoons cilantro, chopped |
1/4 cup diced onion |
Directions:
1. Rinse tomatillos, cover with water, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes until tomatillos have changed color 2. Drain water. Put tomatillos, salt, garlic and serrano pepper in blender; blend to desired consistency (note: pepper seeds will add heat to salsa) 3. Add 1/4 cup diced onion, 3-4 tablespoons chopped cilantro |
