Got this out of the newspapaer and made for the game...Was a huge hit. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups beef broth |
1 envelope dry onion soup mix |
1 tsp. cumin |
1-2 tsp. chili powder |
1/2-1 tsp. crushed red pepper |
1/2 tsp. black pepper |
1/2-1 large jalapeno seeded and diced |
1 medium tomato, chopped |
3 lbs. bottom round roast, cut into bite size pieces |
3 tbls. veg. oil ( i used canola) |
1/2 cup flour |
* add as much or as little as you like according to your taste...i went spicy |
Directions:
1. Put 1 cup broth and next 7 ingredients in crock pot and turn to high. 2. Dredge meat in flour and in a large skillet put 2 tbls oil and brown meat in batches. 3. Add meat to slow cooker 4. Put 1/2 cup broth in skillet and scrape up bits. 5. Add to slow cooker 6. Reduce heat to low and cook 8-10 hours 7. I served this over rice and garnished with sour cream. |
