My boss gave me this recipe for a pot luck we were having. Everyone loved it and there were no left overs. You can use this dish as a main dish also or as a side. I cooked it in my slow cooker but you can also bake it. Read more . If there is a bean in the recipe that you don't have you can substitute with any bean except the baked beans are a must for this recipe. Next time I make these I am going to try spicy mustard for a little kick. Ingredients:
8 slices bacon-small cooked chunks |
1 c. brown sugar |
1/2 c. vinegar |
1 tsp. mustard |
2 med. onions-sliced like onion rings |
1lb. 11 oz. can (large can) bush's baked beans-do not drain |
1 can kidney beans-drain |
1 cup butter beans-drain |
1 large can lima or canellini beans-drain |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in slow cooker on high 2 1/2 hrs. then on low for about 2 1/2 hrs. or bake 350 for 2 hrs. |
