Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup molasses |
1/4 cup milk |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
2 cups quick-cooking oats, uncooked |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, molasses, and milk; beat well. 2. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves in a medium mixing bowl. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture, stirring well. Add oats; stir well. 3. Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool. |
