Another one from Gma Roberts. She loved raisins and anything sweet. I remember that these breakfast scones and hot tea were the meal we shared before we would go fishing off her dock in Marathon. Ingredients:
1 egg |
1/2 cup milk |
2 cups of bisquick ( or similar mix) |
3/4 cup of seedless raisins |
3 tablespoons of sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 2. Beat egg until frothy and measure out milk. 3. Then stir up the biscuit mix with sugar and raisins. 4. Next, stir in egg & milk, stirring well. 5. Divide dough into two parts and pat or roll eachportion on a floured board into circle about 1/2 inch thick. 6. Cut each circle into wedges (6) just like a pie. 7. Poke holes in top of each scone with a fork. 8. Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar. 9. Place on baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes. 10. Serve very hot. |
