This easy to make bread is packed with raisins and walnuts. It's a great in the morning, with tea or for dessert. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2/3 cup white sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 egg, beaten |
1 cup applesauce |
3 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 1/3 cups chopped walnuts |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. 2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, beat together egg, applesauce and butter. Stir applesauce mixture into flour mixture just until combined. Fold in walnuts and raisins; pour batter into prepared loaf pan. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing. |
