My first ever rainbow cake.My mother was surprised to see it and said, WOW!!!How you did that ? :) The cake is rich and tasty,but not very sweet.So frost the cake. so colourful!Just follow the recipe and use whatever color you like. Ingredients:
170 gm butter,soft |
170 gm castor sugar |
3 eggs |
1 tsp vanilla essence |
170 gm cake flour |
4 tsp baking powder |
3 tbsp milk |
food colors(pink,yellow,green or more) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven at 180 C.Grease a 9 inch round cake tin,line base with greaseproof paper.Grease paper. 2. Sift flour and baking powder together. 3. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. 4. Add eggs one at a tme and continue beating until thick and creamy. 5. Add vanilla and beat again to mix. 6. Gradually add flour to the butter mixture. 7. Add milk and beat until smooth. 8. Divide mixture into 4 portions and color three portion with the food 9. colors. 10. Spoon a tablespoon of plain mixture into the centre of cake tin.Then 11. spoon a tablespoon of pink mixture on it,then yellow,then 12. green. 13. Repeat until you are done with batter(The last layer should be plain).Try to consistent with every color. 14. Bake on 180 C for 45-50 minutes or till cake is done. 15. Turn cake on wire rack and leave to cool before cutting. 16. Spread your favorite frosting over cake. 17. Sprinkle colored sugars on top to make rainbow design. |
