I found this recipe in an advertisement for Ragu. The original recipe calls for 2 eggs instead of the egg whites and Ragu's Old World Style Pasta Sauce. Ingredients:
2 (15 ounce) containers ricotta cheese |
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded |
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated |
1/2 cup egg white |
2 (26 ounce) jars pasta sauce |
12 lasagna noodles, uncooked |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Combine ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese and egg whites. 3. Using 13x9 baking dish, spread 1 cup pasta sauce on the bottom. 4. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, then 1 cup pasta sauce, then 1/2 cheese mixture. 5. Repeat. 6. Top with remaining 4 lasagna noodles and 2 cups sauce. 7. Reserve the remaining sauce. 8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. 9. Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining cheese. 10. Bake uncovered 10 minutes. 11. Let stand for 10 minutes. 12. Serve with remaining sauce. |
