Radishes are typically forgotten as a snack food in the U.S., instead being relegated to being diced up for salads. I recently went to Mexico, where radishes (and peppers) are served as frequently as french fries are in the U.S., and I think it's a lovely food tradition. So here's to a radish revival! Ingredients:
1 bunch radishes, trimmed |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground mixed peppercorns |
1 sprig fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional) |
Directions:
1. Place the radishes in a bowl, and sprinkle with salt and peppercorns. Toss until evenly mixed. Serve garnished with a sprig of cilantro. |
