I love ginger ale, the stronger flavored the better. I have combined two recipes I found here and added my own touch. Enjoy! Ingredients:
4 inches gingerroot, peeled & coarsely chopped |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 1/4 cups hot water |
1/4 teaspoon lemon extract |
3/4 liter cold sparkling water |
Directions:
1. Place the peeled & chopped ginger root in a good blender along with the sugar. Add the hot water and cover. Blend on high for two minutes. 2. Let the mixture rest for an hour. 3. Filter the mixture, pressing with the back of a spoon through a sieve. 4. Refrigerate liquid overnight in an air tight container. 5. The next day add the lemon extract and stir gently to blend. 6. Take two clean 1 liter bottles and divide the ginger liquid equally between them. 7. Divide the sparkling water between the two bottles, gently shake. and store in your refrigerator until you are ready to drink. |
