This is a dessert anybody can make - while your are having your other courses, it sits in the oven. the aroma ist wonderful. i often serve this after a greek meal as i quite frequently had a dessert made with quince when either in Greece or in a greek restaurant. Ingredients:
2 pear quince (we have apple and pear quince - the pear ones are the best for this recipe) |
2 cups or more whipping cream |
marrow of one vanilla bean |
sugar to taste |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 180 °CENTIGRADE 2. wash and 3. scrub off fluff from the quice. 4. wrap in aluminium foil 5. set on baking tray or dish 6. whip cream together with desired amount of sugar and marrow of vanilla bean, refridgerate 7. remove from oven after about 80 minutes, 8. cut quince in halves, 9. remove core with spoon 10. generously ladle whipped cream into hollow - and some more 11. serve immediately. 12. sounds so easy - is easy - and tastes develishly good. i normally make more then required - people most often ask for more :-) |
